Gulf widens between football's rich and poor. - 24/09/2007Brighton and Hove Albion have been 'on the brink' for almost as long as I can remember. Today saw a new gulf between the super rich and the poorest football clubs as Arsenal posted figures including over £50million profit and turnover in excess of £200million. The figures also showed Arsenal having a £74million cash reserve. One Brighton insider said "Arsenal have a fantastic team and a wonderful new stadium - wouldn't it be great if people wer saying that about Brighton soon. You can see they have benefited finacially from their move." The figures will help dispell rumours of an imminent take-over and give fans the confidence to veto such a move. [Back to news] |
